Louise Siddons called a wonderful programme of 17th and 18th century English dances and it was gratifying to see how little calling we needed once we had danced a couple of turns of Jaque Latin and De'il Tak the War.
We tried out the new dance, Deeds, Not Words, written by Hazel Moir to a tune by Rebecca King, commemorating 100 years of women's suffrage. It was the first time the group has "workshopped" a new dance and we found some parts easier than others. We didn't seem to have much memory of Bonny Kate of Perth - muscle or otherwise! - which we'll need to revise. After tea, we enjoyed Excuse Me, Well Hall and Once a Night. We won't put her through the ordeal of calling without a mic again!
